Laos–Cambodia 115 kV Grid Interconnection SCADA

Électricité du Laos (EDL) undertook a project to install an Automation SCADA system to monitor, control and manage the 115 kV high-voltage transmission network, interconnecting the power systems of Laos and Cambodia at the Ban Hat Substation in southern Laos. We were responsible for design and development, testing, report approval, installation (CT, VT, PMU, automation I/O instrumentation, TCP/IP networks and electrical cabling), software development, customer service and system commissioning.

Nam Xong Hydropower Grid Connection

For Électricité du Laos at the Nam Xong Hydropower Plant, Vientiane Province, we installed a SCADA automation system to control, monitor, manage and record the connection, production, transmission and distribution of 22 kV medium-voltage power to the national grid — covering design, development, testing, installation (CT, VT, PMU, automation I/O, fiber optic TCP/IP networks and cabling), software development and commissioning.

2008 Irrigation & Water Management

Reservoir & River Water Management SCADA

For EDL-GEN at Nam Xong Hydropower, we installed a SCADA automation system to monitor, control and manage water levels in the reservoir and rivers — including ultrasonic water-level sensors on 4–20 mA signals, automation I/O equipment, fiber optic TCP/IP networks and electrical wiring, plus software development and commissioning.

Grid Protection & Transient Stability Study with EXP Canada

As local partner of EXP Canada, we supported a nationwide project to enhance transient stability, improve protection systems and develop SCADA for networks and hydropower plants across northern and central Laos — collecting technical data from 13 hydroelectric plants, 37 substations and transmission lines, analyzing SCADA systems, generator operation, AVR/governor, PSS, CCT and AGC functions, and reporting to Électricité du Laos.

Automation SCADA & AI Operation Center, National University of Laos

Co-founders of the first Automation and AI Operation Center in Lao PDR, at the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Laos. We designed, developed, assembled and installed the automation SCADA system, Local Control Unit, AI and networking systems for the laboratory.

For the Asian Development Bank, we served as principal inspector of the electrical and Automation SCADA systems for two new clear-water supply factories in Laos — covering SCADA features, automation systems, block diagrams, drawings, networking, pumping systems, electrical systems, auxiliary power and telecommunications.

Analog-to-Digital Control Panel Upgrade (380 V / 400 kVA)

At Nam Ngum 1 Hydropower we upgraded the control panel of the auxiliary power diesel engine from analog to digital and replaced the automatic transfer switch — covering design, testing, controller and firmware installation, AVR, parameter setting, power metering, wiring and commissioning.
